01   About this policy

This policy applies to basharsoft.com and to the BasharSoft products and services that link to it, including features that connect to third-party services such as Google. Some of our products — for example, WUZZUF, Forasna, Recruitera, and iCareer — may publish their own product-specific privacy notices that provide additional detail. Where a product notice and this policy differ, the product-specific notice governs for that product.

By using our websites, applications, and services (together, the “Services”), you acknowledge the practices described in this policy.

02   Who we are

BasharSoft is a technology company specialized in building online employment marketplaces and recruitment platforms. For the personal data described in this policy, BasharSoft acts as the data controller (and, where we process data on behalf of an employer or client, as a processor on their instructions).

03   Information we collect

3.1  Information you provide

Depending on how you use the Services, this may include your name, email address, phone number, password, profile and CV details, work history, education, skills, photographs, job applications, messages, and any information you choose to add to your account or share with employers.

3.2  Information collected automatically

When you use the Services, we automatically collect certain technical and usage data, such as device and browser type, IP address, operating system, pages viewed, links clicked, search terms, referring pages, and the dates and times of your activity. We collect this through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 6).

3.3  Information from third parties

If you choose to sign in or connect through a third-party service such as Google, or if an employer or partner shares information with us, we receive data from those sources. Information received from Google is described in Section 4.

04   How we use information

We use personal data to:

  • create, authenticate, and secure your account;
  • operate the Services and match job seekers with relevant opportunities and employers;
  • enable communication between job seekers, employers, and partners;
  • personalize content, recommendations, and search results;
  • provide customer support and respond to your requests;
  • analyze, maintain, and improve the Services and develop new features;
  • send service messages and, where permitted, marketing you can opt out of;
  • detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example, under the GDPR), we rely on your consent, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Services, and compliance with legal obligations.

05   Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, measure performance, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Services work. Where required, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies.

06   How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as described here:

  • With employers and partners — when you apply for a job or make your profile visible, relevant details are shared with the employer or recruiter so they can consider you.
  • Within the BasharSoft group — across our products and affiliated entities to operate and improve the Services.
  • With service providers — vendors who host, secure, support, and analyze the Services on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
  • For legal reasons — to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or BasharSoft.
  • In business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, with notice as required.

Google user data is shared only as described in Section 4, in line with Google’s Limited Use requirements.

07   International transfers

We operate primarily in Egypt and the wider MEA region, and some of our service providers operate elsewhere. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with applicable law, including appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections.

08   How long do we keep data

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy — typically for the life of your account and a reasonable period afterward — and longer where the law requires or to resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

9   How we protect data

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information and to respond promptly to any incident.

10   Your rights & choices

Subject to applicable law — including the GDPR for individuals in the European Economic Area and Egypt’s Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) — you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; to data portability; and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

You can exercise many of these rights directly in your account settings or by contacting us at [email protected]. We will respond within the time required by law.

11   Children’s privacy

Our Services are intended for users who are old enough to work and to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

12   Third-party links

The Services may link to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

13   Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Services or by email. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
